EU compliant
Polychim’s Polypropylene offering for rigid food packaging is fully compliant with the EU directive for plastic materials intended to be in contact with food (Commission Regulation No 10/2011 & recent amendment Regulation 2025/351)
From clear to outstanding ultra-clear packaging
Our product range for rigid food packaging boasts one of the most ultra-clear materials in the industry for thin-wall packaging applications, without sacrificing on other benefits. Thanks to its high luxury appeal on the shelf, packaging products based on our polypropylene have been increasingly picked as an alternative for more expensive and harder to recycle materials such as rigid Polystyrene.
Exceptional lightweightness
Thanks to the combination of low density - ranging from 0.895 to 0.92g/cm3 - and a good stiffness balance, Polychim’s Polypropylene offers a high potential of weight saving in key applications, including injection moulded and thermoformed thin-wall containers, while maintaining overall performance.
Barrier properties
The low moisture absorption, good water vapour barrier and inertness of homopolymer Polypropylene makes it the material of choice to ensure high performance and reliability in food preservation, resulting in an optimized shelf life.
Recyclability
Rigid polypropylene packaging is among the easiest plastics to recover and recycle compared with polymers like polystyrene or more complex formats such as multi‑material or mono‑material flexible packaging.
Certified carbon footprint from cradle to gate
With a verified carbon footprint of 1 kg CO₂-eq / kg produced*, our PP has simply one of the lowest emissions out there. This is how we can partner up to tackle your challenges.
Polychim Industrie is leading the way in reducing the CO2-emission of polymers without sacrificing performance. To evaluate the effects our product has on the environment, we conducted a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) from cradle to gate. The result: the carbon footprint of all our resins stands at an impressively low 1.00 kg CO₂-eq / kg PP produced.
*LCA in conformance with ISO 14040/44 and following the requirements of EN 15804 through third-party verification by Fishwick Environmental. Our LCA is available upon request.
